It is amazing how much things have changed (for the better) since my first puppy 35 years ago. While you need to carefully vet everything on the Internet, there are amazing resources out there. To help your pup relax and calm, there are lots of Dog TV and other relaxation videos for dogs. They are typically calming music with a backdrop of scenes for dogs. Izzy is currently sound asleep after I put one on in the background. There are also a lot of socialization videos. You want to work with your dog on these. They should be set at a low volume so it is similar to background noise. Then watch your dog's reaction. If Izzy is sleeping, I just let them play but if she is awake and notices a sound, I treat her. If she reacts to a sound and then is able to calm or redirects, I treat her. If she were to react and not able to change focus or calm after a few seconds, I would stop the video. You need to make sure it is a positive experience for your dog. To find the videos, just go to YouTube and search Dog TV and Dog Socialization or Dog Desensitization Videos.
