So much fun!

Every day Izzy makes progress. Baby shark rarely shows herself now. She responds quickly to training. We only have one more session of Puppy Kindergarten left! 98% of the time she is just pure joy to be with. This week she got to spend lots of time with friends, new and old. She walked with our friend Cary. We went over to visit Barb and Maya and this time we let them play. They had so much fun and Izzy showed a lot of respect for her elder. Barb also brought out a tunnel. By the end of our session, Izzy was running in and out of it with and without Maya.

Today Runa came over to play. Check out the video. So fun!

We had our orientation and assessment at LuckyDog Day and Night Care this week. During our orientation, Izzy even settled while we talked. Izzy was a bit overwhelmed by so many dogs but after her assessment (2 hours) she was comfortable and playing. We will start her out half-days and most likely will stay with 1/2 days so she doesn't get over-tired.

I brought Emmi's favorite stuffed animal, Baby out for Izzy. She loved her. I had to take her away from Emmi after 3 operations to save her. Izzy is much more gentle with her stuffed animals. I had to perform an operation and amputate one of her legs and stich up a stomach wound before I could leave her with Izzy. I think Emmi would like seeing Izzy loving on Baby.

We had a big win with staying in the crate alone. I had a vet appointment for GrayC. I took Izzy for a short walk, then a 10 minute play session and a 5 minute loose leash walking exercise prior to putting her in her crate. I left her with Baby and a pupsickle. I fully expected when I got to the vet and checked the camera she would be fussing but she was sound asleep! Yay Izzy!

Tracy noted in her APET Assessment to check on Izzy when she was too quiet. Well, we got lax. I went to check when I heard some crunching and found her munching on Dave's glasses. Oops. This was her following the episode...is she not the cutest? Who could get angry at that face? Dave is definitely more attentive of his glasses.

OMGosh this face!

I started this blog to share the journey of training my next therapy dog, Izzy. I'll be documenting our activities and experiences, aiming to inform and inspire fellow dog lovers on this rewarding journey. Because I'm passionate about all animals, there will also be posts about other animals, including my cats (Christopher, GrayC and Stitch). Thanks for joining us!
