I Did Something Stupid

I think this would be Izzy's response if she knew what I did.
I think this would be Izzy's response if she knew what I did.

So I submitted my application to Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) an hour after my last observed visit. I checked and double-checked my packet and then scanned it. I looked at it before attaching and then emailed it. I knew due to staff turnover and an increase in applicants as another major certifying agency has folded, it would be 5 to 7 weeks. I have been patiently waiting.

Today I got an email from ATD. I was so excited. Finally. I opened it and quickly saw the sentence that there was a page missing from my application. Page number 13. No way I thought. I checked and double-checked. I grabbed the packet. Page 13 was there. Then I looked at the scanned file. Page 13 was missing. It must have stuck to the page before it when I scanned them. When I looked at it, I must have been so sure it was there, I didn't realize it was missing.

I responded with the missing page within 5 minutes but I think this put me back at the bottom of the applications. I am so bummed and disappointed in myself for not checking that scanned copy more thoroughly. Lesson learned.

I started this blog to share the journey of training my next therapy dog, Izzy. I'll be documenting our activities and experiences, aiming to inform and inspire fellow dog lovers on this rewarding journey. Because I'm passionate about all animals, there will also be posts about other animals, including my cats (Christopher, GrayC and Stitch). Thanks for joining us!
