Happy Vet Visits

My vet suggested bringing Izzy in between visits to meet all the staff and have "happy vet visits" to help with future visits. I think this is a brilliant idea so added it to her list! Today Izzy went in for her second happy vet visit. Jenny had her practice getting on the scale, sitting, lying down and then putting a second leash on and actually going to a treatment room. She was able to get up to the table from the steps and Jenny then showed her some of the things she will see on visits like a flea comb, thermometer and otoscope. There were two really large dogs and two boston terriers in the waiting room and Izzy did great seeing them and getting just a little excited with one play bow to the big dogs. What a great socialization activity! Love my vet clinic and as I've said before, find a good vet clinic and get to know them before you need them.

I started this blog to share the journey of training my next therapy dog, Izzy. I'll be documenting our activities and experiences, aiming to inform and inspire fellow dog lovers on this rewarding journey. Because I'm passionate about all animals, there will also be posts about other animals, including my cats (Christopher, GrayC and Stitch). Thanks for joining us!
