We spent two nights at the Fireside in Yachats for my birthday. This was Izzy's first time in a motel and she did incredible! She was a joy to travel with and I just have to brag about how wonderful she is! The Fireside is on the beautiful 804 trail in Yachats, Oregon. It is a beautiful location where you can watch the surf hitting the rocky shoreline. There is a great trail right in front of the motel that ends up at a long beach. You have an amazing view out the large window in the room. It was rainy all but the day we left but we still got out for lots of walks in between the hard downpours and enjoyed the comfort of our room and watching the rain and surf the rest of the time. The motel is very dog friendly. They give you a dog pack with sheets and towels at check-in which was really helpful. There were several doggy stations on the property and places for them to do their business. We will definitely be back.
Now back to bragging. Izzy was amazing! Dogs were constantly walking past on the trail in front of our room and she just quietly watched them. Dogs barked in other rooms and she listened but did not join in. Dogs barked at her outside and she did not bark back. Yes, we are still dealing with her wanting to meet every person and dog we encounter and pulling on the walks but that is slowly improving and she was perfect in every other way. She did nothing wrong in the room. No chewing at all. She was definitely busy but got in no trouble and would nap after her walks. I brought pupsicles (which helped occupy her), her toys, bed, soft crate and a collagen chew. All were appreciated. She truly was a wonderful travel companion and she is only 8 months old! I am falling more and more in love with her every day.
