Izzy decided this week she didn't want to get into the van to go on her play adventure with Lucky Dog. This was something they had to work on with her when she started and they got her past it. She decided this week, she wasn't comfortable getting in the crate again. We tried Tuesday and Friday so we've decided to give her a couple of weeks off and see if that helps.
With that change, it was great to have our new mini pack walk and a play date with Juno this week, to give Izzy time with dog friends.
We are also working on giving her freedom in the whole house. Initially, she was so excited and just ran all over, room to room. Each time, she is a little less excited.
I'm also working on her wearing a crash tested harness and seatbelt device instead of her crate in the car. I think it makes her feel a little insecure not having the crate but I think it will be safer for her and ultimately be more comfortable.
Her Therapy Dog Certification exam is a week a way! I am so excited. We ran into Dee again today and her husband on our walk. She said she had been telling him all about the amazing changes with Izzy and what a great therapy dog she was going to be. She even called Izzy "my therapy dog". Izzy leaned against her which she loved. She also went to her husband for pets but always came back to her. She told me not to tell anyone else there but Izzy was her favorite dog there now. Izzy really likes to interact with people. I really think she is ready for this.
I've been having too much fun working on Izzy swag to give out. She will have trading cards. They are really popular but I wanted to do more. So, I created coloring pages to give out to the kids. I thought they could be really helpful for kids at the airport.

I had a friend who made me a sticker of Izzy when she was a puppy that I have on my water bottle and just love. I decided to have some stickers made I could give people. Can you tell how excited I am? The next post will be after her exam. Even if she isn't ready, it will give us good feedback and we can take it again. Cross your paws and wish us luck!
